Hi, my name is Aleksandra Magdalena. I am a Polish photographer and visual artist based in Valencia, Spain.

I studied Sociology at the University of Warsaw and Photography at the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznań. I also completed a photography programme with the Association of Polish Art Photographers in Warsaw.

My artistic practice explores identity, memory, femininity and belonging, often drawing on personal experiences of migration and motherhood. My work has been exhibited at PIX.House Gallery in Poznań, Pracownia Wschodnia in Warsaw and Rybnik Foto Festival, and published in Gazeta Wyborcza.

Alongside my photographic practice, I work with traditional and experimental photographic techniques, handmade paper, artist books and alternative image-making processes. I am particularly interested in the relationship between photography, craftsmanship and materials, and in how images can take on a physical form beyond the photographic print.

In 2026, I began developing a broader programme of creative workshops in Valencia, combining photography, traditional crafts and experimental techniques. My workshops include cyanotype, pinhole photography, handmade papermaking, bookbinding and other processes that encourage a more tactile and personal approach to making images and objects.

Teaching and sharing creative skills are an important part of my practice. I believe in learning through making, experimenting with materials and discovering possibilities through the creative process. My workshops are designed for both beginners and those wishing to explore new techniques, with an emphasis on individual expression, curiosity and the pleasure of working with our hands.

I work from my studio at Fantastic Lab in Valencia, where I develop my artistic projects, experiment with materials and host workshops for small groups.
